Ó Sé made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he was selected for the Kerry minor team in 1971.

At just fourteen-years of age Ó Sé joined the Gaaeltacht senior team in 1970.

He won numerous divisional championship titles in the course of his career, while he was also selected for the West Kerry divisional team.
